John Lewis – American politician and civil rights icon of the 20th–21st centuries, author of March and Walking with the Wind, hero of the Civil Rights Movement. He survived brutal attacks during the Selma “Bloody Sunday” march and became a lifelong symbol of nonviolent resistance. His graphic memoir March reintroduced history to younger audiences.
