Oleksandr Mykhed (b. 1988, Lubny) is a Ukrainian writer, cultural researcher, and literary critic. Author of Astra, Amnesia, and I Will Mix Your Blood with Coal. A graduate of Taras Shevchenko National University, he has worked in cultural studies, curating multimedia exhibitions and art projects. Since 2022, he has served as a volunteer in the 93rd Brigade “Kholodnyi Yar” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. His prose combines experimental form, psychological intensity, and engagement with historical memory.

📚 His essays and prose have been published in Germany, Poland, and the USA. 🎨 Curator of multimedia projects blending literature, video, and performance. 🖋 His novel I Will Mix Your Blood with Coal became a voice of war-torn Donbas, translated into foreign languages. 🏅 Selected for the “New European Voices” list by Literature Across Frontiers. 🎤 Regular participant in European literary festivals. 🪖 Since 2022 he has been a volunteer soldier in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, uniting a writer’s voice with combat experience. 📖 Frequently uses documentary testimonies as a literary technique. 💡 Believes a writer must be a “witness of the times” – made even sharper by war. 📌 Curious: once accidentally destroyed his own art installation while setting up an exhibition – called it “part of the concept.” 😄 Funny fact: jokes that army life taught him to write more strictly – “a manuscript is also a combat mission.”
