Valeriy Puzik (b. 1987, Khmelnytskyi region) is a Ukrainian writer, film director, screenwriter, and artist. Author of short story collections Homeless Dogs, Monolith, Oils, and the book Live Now. A participant in the Revolution of Dignity and a volunteer in the Anti-Terrorist Operation, he served in reconnaissance. His work fuses wartime experience, urban narratives, and experimental form.
π His book Monolith was listed among the best debuts in Ukrainian prose. π₯ As a director, he made several short films that won festival awards. πΌ Also works as an artist, designing covers and illustrations. πͺ Served in reconnaissance during the Anti-Terrorist Operation, which shaped much of his writing. π€ Participant in literary festivals and art residencies in Ukraine and abroad. π His texts balance between reportage, diary, and fiction. πΆ Collaborated with musicians, performing prose readings with live music. π Winner of several literary contests and awards. π Curious: jokes that his first bookβs print run was βstolenβ by friends before the official launch. π Funny fact: once read his stories in a courtyard with guitar accompaniment, and neighbours thought it was a theatre rehearsal.
